LA BUFADORA (THE BLOWHOLE)

AN AMAZING NATURAL BLOWHOLE THAT SPEWS SEAWATER AND FOAM HIGH INTO THE AIR, NEWLY RENOVATED WITH BOTANICAL GARDENS, LIGHTING AND OBSERVATION DECKS WITH HANDICAPPED ACCESS. 23 MILES SOUTH OF ENSENADA AT THE TIP OF THE PUNTA BANDA PENINSULA.


GRAY WHALE WATCHING
THE GRAY WHALE IS THE MOST COMMON SPECIES. SEEN NEAR THE COAST OF BAJA'S. OTHER WHALES ARE PRESENT, BUT TEND TO SEEK DEEPER WATERS, WHILE THE GRAY WHALES SWIM IN SHALLOW WATER SEEKING BAJA'S MANY LAGOONS FOR CALVING. THE BAJA CALIFORNIA COAST ARE TEAMING WITH WHALES DURING THE CALVING SEASON FROM LATE NOVEMBER TO LATE MARCH. THE GREATEST NUMBERS CAN BE SEEN IN FEBRUARY.

SAN QUINTIN
AN ENGLISH COMPANY STARTED THE COLONIZATION OF THIS PLACE IN 1887. VISITORS CAN ADMIRE WORKS FROM THAT PERIOD SUCH AS THE VICTORIAN STYLE TRAIN STATION AND THE WOODEN REMAINS FROM THE OLD PIER.
